Auditing and remediating the Inclusive App Craft platform
I put my own platform through the same accessibility scrutiny I apply for clients — auditing it against WCAG, fixing the real barriers I found, and re-verifying every fix with Webscan.
The challenge
It's easy to claim accessibility; it's harder to prove it on your own product. I wanted the Inclusive App Craft site to genuinely meet WCAG, and to catch the subtle, framework-specific issues that generic advice misses.
How I approached it
- Scanned the live site with Webscan and triaged the findings, separating real barriers from false positives.
- Remediated concrete WCAG issues — including form controls without accessible names and related name/label problems — at the component level.
- Tracked down a TanStack Router loader-serialisation bug that left dynamic pages with the wrong document title (an accessibility and SEO problem) and fixed it across all affected routes.
- Re-scanned after each fix to confirm the barrier was gone, not just believed gone.
Outcomes
- The specific WCAG findings I identified were fixed and re-verified as resolved.
- Dynamic pages now expose correct, descriptive titles to assistive technology and search engines.
- A repeatable self-audit habit: the platform is re-checked with Webscan rather than assumed compliant.
